BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović received today in Sarajevo the Minister of European Affairs of the Czech Republic, Martin Dvořák, to whom he welcomed, stressing that the bilateral relations between the two countries are good and there are no open questions.
He said that economic relations between the two countries have been on the rise lately, as evidenced by the fact that trade in goods in 2022 increased by 36 percent compared to the previous year, and that this trend continued in 2023. He emphasized that all the preconditions exist and the interest of both countries for mutual economic cooperation to be further strengthened.
Bećirović thanked for the continuous assistance that the Czech Republic has provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the last few years, through development projects, especially for the donation of around one million euros for the purchase of modern equipment for surveillance and border control, and for the assistance to students from Bosnia and Herzegovina studying in the Czech Republic.
Speaking about the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bećirović expressed the hope that the EU will make a decision in March to open negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina for EU membership, which would open up space for the implementation of essential reforms, all for the benefit of those who live in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Herzegovina.
He thanked for the principled, strong and continuous support that the Czech Republic provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU accession process.
Wishing Bosnia and Herzegovina success on its European path, Minister Dvořák said that the Czech Republic absolutely supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s entry into the European Union and is ready to help through the exchange of experiences, but also in other ways.
