BiH Presidency Member: It is needed to show full Respect for all Victims

Mladen Ivanic, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), on Saturday gave certain documents and films about Donja Gradina and Jasenovac to Adama Dieng, Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General for the Prevention of Genocide.

In addressing journalists after meeting with Dieng, Ivanic expressed his satisfaction with the visit of UN High Representative to Donja Gradina and Banja Luka. During the meeting, Ivanic emphasized that full respect should be given to all victims of the last war in BiH, and that this issue should not be politicized.

“All this should not be politicized, but only to deal with the victims and to show respect for all of them,  regardless of which side from here they belong,” Ivanic said.

According to him, the precondition for this is political stability, for which there is a need for more trust between the people in BiH, and also the politicians who are ready to compromise, not to use every issue for starting conflicts.

While responding to journalists’ questions about writing of some media regarding the introduction of new sanctions by the United States to leaders of Republika Srpska, Ivanic said he was not familiar with that topic.

“I generally believe that sanctions are not a solution for anyone, but I can not influence on how countries will lead their policies,” said Ivanic.
