BiH records Increase in Number of Children enrolled in Preschool Institutions

In the school year 2023/24. in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are 493 preschool institutions with 41,214 children, and compared to the previous school year, the number of kindergarten users is 6.3 percent higher.

Of the total number of children in pre-school education, 59.7 percent of them are enrolled in public institutions, while 40.3 percent of children are enrolled in private institutions, announced the BiH Statistics Agency.

6,533 children were waiting for a place in preschool institutions, which is four percent less than the previous school year.

In the school year 2023/24. In 2010, 10,251 children stayed in the nursery group, which is 9.6 percent more than in the previous school year.

In preschool institutions, the largest group consists of children between the ages of two and three, of whom 56.9 percent.

In this school year, compared to the previous one, the number of employees in preschool institutions increased by 6.7 percent.
