BiH records Increase in the Number of Tourist Arrivals

The total number of tourist arrivals in May 2025 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) amounted to 149.134, which is 4.3 percent more compared to May 2024, and compared to April of this year, it is higher by 30.1 percent. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of arrivals was 26.4 percent, and foreign tourists 73.6 percent.

The total number of tourist overnight stays in May of this year amounted to 281.021, which is 6.0 percent more compared to May 2024, and compared to April 2025, it is higher by 23.4 percent. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays was 26.2 percent, and foreign tourists 73.8 percent.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was recorded in the category Hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 95.9 percent, according to the data of the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists, the most overnight stays were recorded by tourists from: Turkey (12.2 percent), Croatia (8.9 percent), China (5.7 percent), United States (5.2 percent), and Germany (5.1 percent), which is a total of 37.1 percent. Tourists from other countries recorded 62.9 percent of overnight stays.

The number of available beds in May 2025 amounted to 33.836, which is 7.5 percent more compared to May 2024.

The net bed occupancy rate for the category hotels and similar accommodation in the area of the FBiH in May amounted to 30.5 percent.
