BiH reports significant Increase in Number of Tourist Arrivals

In the period from January to April this year, there were 316,236 tourists arrivals, which represent the increase by 74.6 % and 704, 709 overnight stays which an increase by 64.5% as compared to the same period of 2021.

The number of domestic overnight stays increased by 13.5% and number of foreign tourist overnight stays increased by 140.6 % as compared to the same period of 2021. Domestic tourists’ share of a total number of overnight stays was 41.3% and foreign tourists’ share was 58.7%.

Concerning the structure of foreign overnight stays, most of them (72.7%) were realised by tourists from Croatia (25.6%), Serbia (24.6%), Slovenia (7.4%), Germany (4.5%), Montenegro (4.2%), Turkey (3.6%) and Austria (2.8%). Tourists from other countries realized 27.3 % of overnight stays.

Regarding the average stay of foreign tourist stays, on the first place comes Kuweitt with an average stay of 3.5 nights, China with 3.1 nights and Luxembourg and Hungary both by 2.9 nights.
