The Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivica Bošnjak, held an expert course in Sarajevo today, which was attended by the heads of police and security agencies within the Ministry of Security of BiH.

The meeting was attended by the directors of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Darko Ćulum, the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH Enes Karić, the Service for Affairs with Foreigners of BiH Žarko Laketa, the Border Police of BiH Mirko Kuprešaković, the Agency for Forensic Examinations and Expertises Radiš Samardžija, the Agency for Training and Professional Development of Personnel Marko Vujević and the Agency for Police Support Enver Hadžiahmetović.

The course presented the current state of security, as well as the priorities in the work of the agencies, with a special emphasis on fulfilling the obligations arising from the priorities on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The issues of migration management were also discussed, as well as the obligations that BiH should fulfill in the field of combating terrorism and preventing money laundering, in order to fulfill MONEYVAL’s recommendations and avoid placing Bosnia and Herzegovina on the so-called gray list.

After the presentation of the results of the work in the past year, it was assessed that, despite the problems caused by the lack of employees and police officers, the majority of the planned obligations and tasks were fulfilled, and that a significant contribution was made to maintaining security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The priorities of work in the current year were also discussed, with significant support expected in the employment of missing personnel, the procurement of equipment, as well as the adoption of key legal and by-laws that would enable more efficient work and functioning of the agencies, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.
