The Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, met today in Sarajevo with the newly appointed commander of EUFOR in BiH, Major General Laszlo Sticz.
Major General Sticz presented the key priorities in fulfilling EUFOR’s mission and contributing to the preservation of peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Nešić wished Major General Sticz much success in his new position, evaluating his arrival in this position as positive and important for future cooperation because, in addition to rich military experience, he comes from a country that knows the situation in BiH and the region extremely well and has a balanced approach and the best understanding of relations in region and specificities in BiH.
Assessments of the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and vision of future cooperation between EUFOR and the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina were exchanged.
Minister Nešić highlighted the progress made by the Ministry in the last year in strengthening relations with the security agencies of the European Union, through the establishment of operational cooperation with EUROPOL and the negotiations for cooperation with FRONTEX.
He stressed that he expects a high level of cooperation with EUFOR in order to preserve the safe environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the European Union, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
