slikacitavaThe handover of the facility of the embassy, which was assigned to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of distribution of diplomatic-consular property of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the demarcation of land with the Republic of Serbia, was held in Ankara on March 30.

The authorized negotiator of BiH for the implementation of the Annex B of the Agreement on the issues of succession Adnan Hadžikapetanović, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, led the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – the commission for demarcation of land and handover of the facility of the Embassy during the meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Serbia in Ankara on March 29 and 30. Delegation of the Republic of Serbia was led by the authorized negotiator Veljko Odalović, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.

Facility of the embassy of the former Yugoslavia in Ankara was assigned to BiH by the Resolution of the Committee for distribution of diplomatic-consular property of the former Yugoslavia from 2006, while the Republic of Serbia through the same Resolution got the facilities of the residency and a house. Resolution of the Committee from 2011 defined the obligation of the handover of the embassy facility until the end of 2012.

After negotiations that lasted for several years, the authorized negotiator of BiH Adnan Hadžikapetanović, at the previous meeting of the Committee for distribution of the diplomatic-consular property of the former Yugoslavia which was held in Skopje on February 8, demanded that the open issue of handover and demarcation in Ankara is resolved before reaching further agreements in the implementation of the Annex B of the Agreement, which was also supported by negotiators of other successor countries.

Authorized negotiators of BiH and Serbia, in cooperation with commissions for demarcation, invested maximum efforts in the past period in order to resolve this issue on a bilateral basis and enable the unhindered work of the Committee and implementation of the Agreement.

After all necessary preparations and harmonization of land distribution criteria, the operations were successfully completed on March 30, 2016 in Ankara.
