Gas importers from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) did not apply to the invitation of the European Commission to purchase gas together with European companies at a lower price for next winter. This was confirmed by the office of the European Commissioner for Energy.
The European Energy Platform was established in April 2022, due to the crisis in the energy markets caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The essence of this platform is to collect data on gas needs in one place. The invitation to submit needs was opened on April 25th of this year and lasted until May 2nd.
After that, a tender for the total quantity will be announced every two weeks, to which all global exporting companies, from Azerbaijan to the United States (U.S.), will be able to apply.
BiH does not have a company at the state level for importing gas. This area is regulated at the level of two entities.
Two entity companies that import gas from Russia say that they have no problems with delivery. However, they do not disclose the purchase price of gas, but only the price of gas sold to end consumers.
Gazprom forms the price for BiH according to the oil formula, which is more favorable, and not according to the stock market price.
After his visit to Moscow this week, President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin told him that the new price “will remain favorable, with some small increases”, and that the price will rise “because of the complex transit”, Slobodna Evropa reports.
