President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik.

During the meeting, Aliyev said that he is very delighted for Dodik’s participation in the Summit.

“It is also a good opportunity to discuss bilateral issues. I am glad that the relations between our countries are developing very successfully. We very actively cooperate within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Our mutual support in international organizations is very important. And now Azerbaijan, as the country chairing the Non-Aligned Movement will take into account the legitimate interests of member states, of course,” Aliyev said.

“Over the next three years, we will make every effort to effectively chair the organization and strengthen solidarity among member countries,” he added.

He added that he has earlier met in Baku with other authorities from BiH, defining a framework for bilateral ties.

Aliyev concluded by saying that he is sure that they will continue joint efforts to bring the countries closer together and strengthen the bilateral ties.

For his part, Milorad Dodik said that it is a great opportunity to visit the country and meet with president Aliyev.

“I have to express my admiration with what I saw in your beautiful city and the wonderful people I have met so far. Thank you for the tremendous efforts to improve bilateral relations between our countries. I know that you are very interested in establishing good relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and you are committed to this cause. I want to express my gratitude to you for the support that you offered us earlier – both for humanitarian assistance and for business opportunities. I want to express my sincere gratitude and desire to continue our successful cooperation. Your Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina works well. He is very dedicated and active. This allows us the opportunity to develop good prospects. However, I know that every step the Ambassador takes is underpinned by your commitment. I believe that your chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement will take our relations onto a new plane. I want to thank you for the successful organization of the Summit and congratulate you. This, of course, enhances our faith in a fairer and calmer world,” Dodik conluded.
