BiH’s Prime Minister met with World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Vice President

Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina headed by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic met with Cyril Muller, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, in Washington.

They discussed the continuation of co-operation, mainly because of the structural reforms that are essential for the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are accompanied by financial assistance.

They stressed the importance for the economic development of building infrastructure, especially transport, energy, utilities and digital, as well as increasing the quality of funds for small and medium-sized enterprises in order to increase their productivity and create jobs, and in order to prevent young people leaving the country.

Vice President Muller said that the World Bank will continue to support BiH, especially in the health sector reform program, which is the basis for achieving a sustainable health care system and reforming public enterprises to improve the efficiency and financial efficiency of enterprises.

Chairman Zvizdic and Vice President Muller agreed that projects that have a direct impact on citizens’ quality of life and projects that will accelerate economic growth and increase employment are among the World Bank’s top priorities.

He thanked the Chair for hosting the May 2020 Constituency Meeting.

Chairman Zvizdic also held meetings with Koen Davidse, CEO at the World Bank, and Anthony De Lannoy, CEO and Richard Doornbosch, Deputy CEO at the IMF.
