The value of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency rose above the $67,000 level on Friday, for the first time in more than three weeks.

The last time the value of the world’s largest cryptocurrency was above that level was recorded on April 24.

Ethereum, the world’s largest altcoin by market capitalization, was up 5.2 percent at $3,090 at 2037 GMT, while some altcoins were up as much as 10 percent.

The value of the cryptocurrency market was $2.42 trillion with a daily growth of 3.12 percent, while Bitcoin’s share of the crypto market, known as dominance, was 54.4 percent and Ethereum’s dominance was 15.3 percent.

The recent rally in cryptocurrency values came after US consumer inflation showed a slowdown in April from the previous month, raising investors’ hopes that the Federal Reserve may start cutting interest rates in September.
