The US State Department has issued a security alert for US citizens abroad, warning of potential attacks.
Although US warnings often refer to only certain parts of the world or regions, this time the State Department issued a warning that applies to the entire world.
“Due to the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the State Department advises U.S. citizens abroad to exercise increased caution. The State Department is aware of the increased potential for violence inspired by foreign terrorist organizations against LGBTQI+ individuals and events and advises U.S. citizens in abroad to be more careful,” they stated.
They also point out that American citizens should be more careful in locations visited by tourists, including pride parades and places visited by LGBTQI+ people.
