Shoppers in the United States (U.S.) spent approximately 10.8 billion dollars on online purchases during “Black Friday,” according to data from Adobe Analytics.

Online spending on “Black Friday” in the U.S. increased by 10.2%, Adobe reported. The company tracks devices using its software to access retail websites across the country.

The most popular online purchases included makeup, skincare, and haircare products, as well as Bluetooth speakers and espresso machines, according to the company’s analytics division.

Online toy sales surged by 622% compared to average daily sales in October, while jewelry sales increased by 561%, and home appliances by 476%, in comparison to October.

“Black Friday,” the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S., marks the official start of the holiday shopping season for retailers, who compete for customers with discounts.

In 2023, U.S. shoppers spent 9.8 billion dollars online during “Black Friday,” up from 9.1 billion dollars the year before, Adobe reported.
