Bomb Alert in Banja Luka during SDP Session on Statehood Day

An unknown person reported at around 5 p.m. that a bomb had been placed in a hotel in Banja Luka, the Banja Luka Police Department announced. The bomb was reported at a ceremonial session of the SDP BiH on the occasion of the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, wrote the head of the SDP BiH Club in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Saša Magazinović, in a post on social media.

The session was not immediately adjourned, but after the speech of SDP President Nermin Nikšić, after which the hotel was evacuated.

Police officers from the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived at the location and a KDZ inspection of the facility followed.

“Police officers are acting in accordance with the Instructions on the Procedures of MUP Members in the Event of a Threat by an Explosive Device or Other Dangerous Means,” the Banja Luka Police Department announced.
