A book of mourning has been opened in the City Hall since today on the occasion of the death of the great BiH musician Halid Bešlić, who died on Tuesday, October 7 at the age of 72.

“Anyone who wants to pay their last respects to Bešlić in this way can do so from today, October 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until Monday, October 13, until 12:00 p.m.,” it was stated on the website of the City of Sarajevo.

The City of Sarajevo, led by Mayor Samir Avdić and the entire staff of the City Administration, once again sends its sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues.

Legendary folk singer Halid Bešlić, a man who became a symbol of folk song in the Balkans, died on Tuesday at the age of 72 after a short battle with a serious illness.

With his unique voice and emotional songs, he left an indelible mark on the music scene of the former Yugoslavia and beyond.

His career, modesty and humanity marked an era, and the departure of a man whose lyrics united generations saddened both stars and ordinary people.
