Boracko Lake has been enriched with a series of new facilities, provided through the ‘Via Dinarica’ project, funded by USAID and the Italian Development Agency, and implemented and co-financed by the City of Konjic and UNDP.
“With the aim of creating the best possible conditions for several days of domestic and foreign guests in the area of Konjic, and improving the conditions for staying in nature, the City of Konjic and UNDP through the project ‘Via Dinarica’ provided everyone who visits Boracko Lake this summer with new facilities”, reported from the City of Konjic.
The project was completed a few months ago, and today the grand opening of the info board was organized in that part, which will offer guests all the important information about the contents of Boracko Lake and its surroundings, which was done by the Mayor of Konjic Osman Catic and Bozena Kaltak, UNDP Program Manager in Herzegovina.
As part of the project, works on arranging access roads, pedestrian paths, and benches and waste bins have been completed, a prefabricated pontoon for easier access to bathers has been set up, and what will follow in the coming period are activities on arranging part of public lighting.
Within the project ‘Via Dinarica’, better conditions were provided for the visit and stay of mountaineers in Prenj, supporting the activities of the Mountaineering Association “Borasnica” on marking and arranging hiking trails through the procurement of necessary materials and equipment for these activities.
The project also supported two smaller projects to improve the tourist offer and two projects for the development and promotion of domestic tourist products, the statement said.
