The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković participated today, September 14, 2026, in the “Sarajevo Business Dialogue” conference, organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Malaysia-Bosnia and Herzegovina Business Council (MBBC), and opened the B2B meetings of businessmen of the two countries, which are held within the framework of a two-day program.

In his address to the participants of the second edition of the Sarajevo Business Dialogue event, Minister Konaković emphasized the importance of further strengthening economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Malaysia through greater trade exchange, new investments, joint projects and direct connection of business communities.

He recalled the long-standing friendship between the two countries and the support that Malaysia provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the most difficult times, stressing that mutual trust is a strong basis for the development of more concrete economic cooperation.
Minister Konaković pointed out the increasing importance of economic diplomacy in the time of global and geopolitical changes, especially in opening new markets, attracting investments and connecting domestic companies with international partners.

He emphasized that geographical distance is not an obstacle when there is mutual business interest and pointed to the opportunities that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a country in the heart of Europe and an economy strongly connected to the European market, can offer Malaysian companies and investors. At the same time, the Malaysian market offers new opportunities to companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He particularly emphasized the importance of direct contacts between businessmen and specific business discussions in order to transform the existing potential into new partnerships, investments and joint projects.
Minister Konaković thanked the organizers for continuing this initiative and expressed his expectation that the Sarajevo Business Dialogue event will contribute to a stronger connection of business communities and concrete results of economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Malaysia.
