Last year, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) exported honey worth 266.437 BAM, representing an increase of 10.61 percent compared to 2023.
At the same time, the value of honey imports was 4.6 million BAM, an increase of 28.75 percent compared to the previous year.
Regarding the quantity of honey exports, last year saw an increase of 45.67 percent, with 10 tons exported, compared to 6.9 tons in 2023. On the other hand, the total honey imports in 2024 amounted to 621.4 tons.
According to data from the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, the export value of one kilogram of honey in 2024 was 26.30 BAM, while the import value was 7.36 BAM.
The majority of BiH honey was exported to Saudi Arabia, totaling 8.148 kilograms, followed by Jordan, where around one ton was shipped, as well as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with 211 kg and Turkey with 137 kg.
The import markets for honey included Croatia, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Hungary.
