Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Minister of Communications and Transport Vojin Mitrovic signed an Agreement yesterday between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation related to the infrastructure and construction projects, as well as the Agreement between the Council of Ministers and the Government of Turkey on mutual recognition and exchange of driver’s licenses.

Mitrovic stressed that the Republic of Turkey has expressed the intentions for better inclusion of Southeast Europe area in the transport network of the European Union (EU) and the Western Balkans, adding that special emphasis in the Ministry he runs is placed on better regional connections in the field of transport and transport infrastructure, Nezavisne writes.

“We consider the signing of the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in infrastructure and construction projects a good basis for continuing activities related to the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade-Sarajevo highway. It will certainly improve the road network in BiH, and the Republic of Serbia, connect the capitals of Sarajevo and Belgrade, and, ultimately, achieve a better regional connection with the Republic of Turkey, ” Mitrovic pointed out.

The Agreement on mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses was also signed by Mitrovic, who said that the main reason for its conclusion was the desire to enable citizens of one state who have a driver’s license to apply for issuing a replacement driver’s license during their legal stay in the territory of another state. It would be done in a way that they wouldn’t have to take the theoretical and practical part of the driving test.
