Bosnia could soon start Exporting Beef to Malaysia

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stasa Kosarac, stated today that BiH could soon start exporting beef, lamb and goat meat to Malaysia, because the key conditions for that have been met.

“If the epidemiological conditions allow, the competent Malaysian inspectors will come to BiH at the end of February and visit the facilities that have been nominated for export, in order to perform controls. This is the final step in the process of approving the export of beef, lamb and goat meat to the Malaysian market, “said Minister Kosarac.

He reminded that BiH and Malaysia had previously bilaterally harmonized international veterinary and health certificates, and that the Malaysian side submitted additional questions to the nominated export facilities from BiH, after which the arrival of Malaysian inspectors and approval of meat exports is expected.

“In the past period, we have been working rapidly on activities necessary for the export of meat to Malaysia, because we appreciate that the opening of new markets is one of the important measures to protect domestic production.

The goal is to define the Malaysian market as a new market for meat producers and processors from the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, in order to enable them to continue doing business and contribute to the reduction of potential market surpluses, “said Minister Kosarac.
