Bosnia does not even have satisfactory Level of Social Justice

The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced today, on the occasion of the World Day of Social Justice, that BiH is still among the countries that cannot boast of a high or even satisfactory level of social justice.

They stated that we still live in a system where there is a very pronounced gap between the super-rich, who are a minority, and the vast majority of others who can barely provide themselves and their loved ones with the most basic things for life.

“It is the responsibility of all of us to do everything in our power to create a society where everyone will enjoy equal rights and have the same opportunities to use their potential. Those who are elected and/or appointed to create the legal framework, programs of social protection and support for everyone, especially temporarily and permanently endangered social groups and individuals, are especially responsible,” the announcement states.

It is emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina can and must be a society where man comes first.

The United Nations General Assembly has decided to observe 20 February annually – starting in 2009 – as the World Day of Social Justice, since social development must be based on justice, solidarity and equality among all countries and within each of them, and social justice, equality and fairness are the fundamental values of every social life.
