Bosniak MPs to raise raise the Issue of Vital National Interest in Republika Srpska?

A delegate in the Bosniak People’s caucus in the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska, Adil Osmanović, after the meeting of that caucus, told FENA that they had made a two-thirds decision to raise the issue of vital national interest regarding the recently passed Law on State Immovable Property by the National Assembly of the RS.

“Out of eight delegates, five Bosniaks from pro-Bosnian parties voted “for”, and three delegates from SNSD were against, which was not enough to challenge that decision. We have already agreed to convene a session of the RS Council of Peoples on January 24 to discuss the decision of the Bosniak People’s caucus in the Council of Peoples regarding the initiation of the vital national interest on the aforementioned law,” stated Osmanović.

He pointed out that, when it comes to state property, only the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina can be the holder and “that issue should be resolved exclusively in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as the Constitutional Court of BiH said.”

According to him, this issue cannot be resolved at the level of entities, neither the Republika Srpska, nor the Federation of BiH.
