Sarajevo Graphics Group – represents Sarajevo bridges in VR (Virtual Reality) video for the first time as another successful project of digital presentation of our heritage.

A virtual tour over Goats Bridge and Sehercehaja’s Bridge, Emperor Bridge and Latin Bridge, Drvenia and the bridge of Festina Lente and Suada and Olga’s Bridge was enabled to Internet users. Those who take a look at all stories will get a reward – a view on bridges along Miljacka River, together with the legend regarding the bridges of Sarajevo.

The author of the project, Ivona Ivkovic, the student of master studies at the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo, created an application that represents selected Sarajevo bridges through digital narration in 360 videos. The project “Sarajevo Bridges” is the final work of Ivona Ivkovic, and she realized it with the help of research assistant on the H2020 project iMARECULTURE, Sanda Sljivo.

The main aim of the project is to establish how attractive is this way of digital presentations of cultural heritage for a user and what are its main advantages and disadvantages. This student project is part of the research conducted by the Sarajevo Graphics Group in regard with the possibilities of interactive digital storytelling. Besides experts in computer graphics, in these researches also participate archaeologists, historians, writers, visual and film artists and musicians. The project “Sarajevo Bridges” was successfully presented at the Central European Seminar on Computer Graphics, which is taking place every year in Slovakia, in the organization of Technische Universität Wien and Comenius University Bratislava, as announced by the Professor Selma Rizvic.
