Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić and her associates held a video link meeting with the IRMCT Prosecutor Serge Brammertz and his team in preparation of the Prosecutor’s semi-annual report to the UN Security Council.

During the meeting, they expressed mutual satisfaction that the cooperation continued in the newly arisen circumstances of the Covid 19 pandemic, since during this time period intensive forwarding of mutual requests for assistance in war crimes cases was continued, via electronic communication and through a Liaison Officer located at the IRMCT Office of the Prosecutor.

In addition, they discussed regional co-operation in prosecuting war crimes cases, particularly Category 2 cases which had been transferred to the judiciary of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Serbia, respectively, as well as the cooperation with the judiciary of Montenegro.

It was concluded that the aforementioned activities would continue with the assistance of the IRMCT Office of the Prosecutor, as well as other previously planned and ongoing activities.

The Chief Prosecutor informed the IRMCT Prosecutor about the work of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the pandemic and about the measures undertaken in that regard. Prosecutor Tadić spoke about activities in implementing improvements in the management of the office and related practices, and Prosecutor Brammertz pledged full support of his office in those and other matters.

The cooperation will be continued in the period to come, and once the conditions have been created, the realization of the planned activities will commence.
