A 17.3 million euros worth contract was signed between Energoinvest Sarajevo and MEPSO Electricity Transmission System Operator of North Macedonia signed on Friday.

Energoinvest will perform design, procurement of equipment, delivery, execution of works, testing and commissioning of the 400 kV power line going from the Bitola 2 substation (400 / 110 kV), via Ohrid substation (400/110 kV) to the Macedonian / Albanian border.

The deadline for construction is 30 months.

The project is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is part of a major energy infrastructure project in Europe (Corridor 8) that is to connect Albania and North Macedonia to a network of Mediterranean and other European countries.

By obtaining a contract like this one in North Macedonia and projects that are already implementing in Albania, our company confirms that it has the potential and can successfully perform the most demanding projects, and on the other hand opens the possibility for participation in new jobs in the region, Energoinvest stated in the press release.

Energoinvest was established as a small design office under the name of “Elektroprojekt” in 1951 with Emerik Blum at the top of the company. Energoinvest has developed into a modern European company whose business is based on the system engineering model of the realized project “turnkey”.

In 1958, Energoinvest was an export oriented company conducting business in markets in more than 20 countries from Mexico to Malaysia.

By 1987, Energoinvest was the largest exporter in the former Yugoslavia in reaching its business peak turnover of one billion dollars with 42,000 employees.

Energoinvest has tens of thousands of kilometers of transmission lines, thousands of substations, a number of hydro and thermal power plants, and process and industrial plants on all continents.
