hamilton_de_holandaAs part of this year’s Jazz Fest in Sarajevo, on 7 November in the Youth Theatre Hamilton de Holanda, virtuoso musician of the bandol, a traditional Brazilian 10-string wire instrument similar to the mandolin, will perform, announced the Directorate of Jazz Fest Sarajevo.

With this unusual instrument, De Holanda brings beautiful music and demonstrates superior music-playing technique, while remaining faithful to the musical tradition of Brazil, with a touch of jazz, pop and any other music that perfectly is incorporated into its own unique musical expression.

‘’Music should simply be beautify, and it is superfluous to place it in selective genres that want to forcefully demystify’’, said the Brazilian artist who was labeled ‘Prince’ by French media, and the Brazilian ‘King of Bandol’.

He has performed throughout the world, sharing the stage with musicians such as Richard Bona and Bela Fleck, and he recorded with Richard Gallian, Joa Bosco and Cesaria Evora.
