brckoOn Saturday, 8 March, Brčko District is to mark the 14th year of its existence. The celebration of this anniversary started on 1 March and for the entire event, which will last until 14 March, 200.000 BAM was spent. The Plenum of the citizens of Brčko District expressed dissatisfaction with the funds that were spent from the budget for this, and called on all citizens to boycott the celebrations.

The protest of citizens of Brčko District is scheduled today at 11:00 in front of the building of the Assembly of Brčko District.

‘’Despite the expressed dissatisfaction of the citizens, the government of Brčko District once again showed its hypocrisy and its personal gain, investing over 200.000 BAM in the organization of a celebration that citizens did not want. Thus, all Brčko citizens who are fighting against nepotism, crime and corruption, who love their city, let’s boycott the celebration of ‘Days of Brčko District’. Political instability, poor leadership, extravagance, lack of transparency and personal interest of leaders of the District brought citizens to despair, a life of misery and a life without future. We are showing that it is enough’’, said the Plenum of the Citizens of Brčko District.

The protests are scheduled one hour before the gala of the Academy at the Culture Center, with attendance of government representatives and officials from B&H and other countries, who will then go for a cocktail at hotel Jelena.
