On the Corridor Vc section in Herzegovina, the breakthrough of the Kvanj Tunnel has begun, one of the most important structures on this highway route through Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

The subsection Tunnel Kvanj – Buna is 5.10 kilometers long and is part of the Mostar South – Buna section.

The Kvanj Tunnel is designed as a twin-tube tunnel – the right tunnel tube is 2.645 meters long, and the left 2.720 meters.

The Kvanj Tunnel has exceptional importance for improving traffic connectivity and regional development.

The start of its breakthrough represents an important milestone in the continuation of the construction of Corridor Vc, one of the most important infrastructure projects in BiH.

Contract worth 125 million euros, excluding VAT

The contract for the construction of the Tunnel Kvanj – Buna subsection, located south of Mostar, was signed on October 4th last year. The value of the mentioned contract is 125 million euros, excluding VAT.

Earlier, work had begun on the route itself. The deadline for completing the construction of the Tunnel Kvanj – Buna subsection is 30 months.

The project was awarded to the large Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), Biznis Info writes.
