British Boxer Tyson Fury announces Retirement

Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Briton Tyson Fury, announced yesterday that he has ended his career.

Fury, who lost a rematch a month ago to WBA, WBO, and WBC champion Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine, shared his retirement decision in a short video message on Instagram, which also included a riddle.

“Hello everyone, this will be short and sweet. I am announcing my retirement from boxing. It’s been great, I’ve enjoyed every minute, and I’ll end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless you, see you on the other side,” Fury said.

It is unclear why Fury mentioned Turpin, the famous 18th-century English highwayman and horse thief.

This is the second time Fury has announced his retirement. He previously did so in April 2022 but returned to boxing two months later.

Fury shocked the world in 2015 when he defeated then-world champion Wladimir Klitschko of Ukraine to claim the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles.

He began his career in 2008 and ended it with 34 wins, two losses, and one draw, including 24 knockouts.
