Iftar for more than 3.000 believers from Cazin and numerous guests from the entire Una-Sana Canton and broader was organized last night at the Square of Golden Lilies in Cazin.
This iftar named “Brotherhoods without Limits” was jointly organized by municipalities Bayrampaşa from Istanbul and Cazin, in cooperation with the Majlis of Islamic Community Cazin.
Apart from officials from the Bayrampaşa Municipality, staff of about a hundred members arrived with the convoy “Brotherhoods without limits”. The staff is already experienced in organizing such events, as could be seen during numerous iftars that they have organized throughout the Balkans over the past several years. After Sofia, Belgrade and Zagreb, this Ramadan the convoy “Brotherhoods without limits” from Bayrampaşa Municipality arrived in Cazin.
“I can only say thanks to our friends from Turkey for choosing Cazin as one of the cities they will visit,” said Nermin Ogrešević, Mayor of the Cazin Municipality.
Iftars “Brotherhoods without limits” are being organized in the Balkans for 12 years now, at the beginning of every month of Ramadan. These iftars are specific not only for the number of people they gather, but also for the complete program which accompanies them.
A rich religions and cultural program accompanies the iftar, with numerous interesting contents from Turkish tradition. The convoy was followed by five TV crews from Turkey, three of which directly broadcasted the iftar in Cazin.
Bayrampaşa Municipalities is one of the most populous municipalities in Istanbul and 35 percent of its population is made of descendants of Bosniaks. Among other things, they organize iftars in the Balkans in order to strengthen the bonds between Muslims from this part of the world.
