After last night’s award ceremony at the Berlinale Film Festival, the producer of the film “Death in Sarajevo” Amra Bakšić Čamo commented on the latest success of Danis Tanović and the BiH.
At this year’s Berlinale, with the jury chaired by the famous US actress Meryl Streep, the film “Death in Sarajevo” by Danis Tanović won a Silver Bear. After last night’s award ceremony, Streep commended Danis Tanović.
According to Bakšić Čamo, after the award ceremony the famous actress addressed Tanović and asked him whether she can play in his next film.
Besides Streep, the legendary British actor Clive Owen, who is also a jury member at this year’s Berlinale, is especially delighted with Danis’s film and BiH actors. According to Bakšić Čamo, Owen said: “What an honor! What an ensemble! This is why we watch films”.
Amra said that detailed plans will be made from Monday on.
“We are now simply happy and we will make plans as of Monday,” Amra said.
As a reminder, after winning the FIPRESCI award presented by the film critics, the film “Death in Sarajevo” by the BiH director Danis Tanović won the Silver Bear, special jury’s award, last night in Berlin, at the 66th Berlinale Film Festival.
There were eighteen films in competition for golden and silver bears at the 66th Berlinale. This year, the festival gathered more than 20.000 film professionals from 128 countries of the world.
