Campara met with Larson: Good Times are coming for BiH

Federal Minister of the Internal Affairs, Aljosa Campara met yesterday at the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of the Internal Affairs with Eric Larson, the Senior Counselor at the United States (U.S.) Embassy in BiH, with whom he discussed establishing an efficient police structure in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).

Campara pointed out the necessary need to establish an efficient police structure in the FBiH entity, which will be able to respond to modern security challenges, especially in the context of the fight against crime and corruption.

“We believe in the U.S., which is our most important foreign policy partner. I take this opportunity to welcome official Washington’s sanctions against individuals who violate BiH’s constitutional order and engage in corruption. I want to believe that your example will be followed by the European Union (EU)countries,” told Minister Campara.

He stressed that the Federal Ministry of the Internal Affairs is interested in launching training programs for students of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Academy in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in BiH, as well as the development of appropriate manuals in the field of fighting crime and corruption.

Larson thanked the Federal Minister for the cooperation so far, noting that the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs has been a long-term partner of the U.S. Embassy in BiH.

He expressed his wish to address the participants of the Ministry of the Interior of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC), who will start training at the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Academy on January 24th, 2022, and hold a presentation on the fight against crime and corruption.

“The U.S. is your friend and we care about BiH. I think that good times are coming for BiH,” Larson stated.

Director of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Academy, Damir Vejo introduced Larson to the role of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs Police Academy in the security system of BiH, but also the plans to strengthen police structures in BiH in the area of ​​police training.

”At yesterday‘s meeting, there was also talk about the need to make competitions for the admission of police officers as transparent as possible, ” it was said by the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs.
