Football Club Roma, the club whose player is the BiH national team player Edin Džeko, defeated Palermo on Sunday with 4:1. The match also brought some progress in Džeko’s professional career, especially when it comes to records.
By scoring a goal at the last match, Džeko reached the result of eight goals in nine matches played this season, which brought him to the top of the list of the best strikers of the Italian football championship.
It was also confirmed that this is his best season so far in his professional career and the average time between two Džeko’s goals is 88.7 minutes.
However, that is not all. The BiH striker can still improve his average and break new records. Already in the next, tenth round, of the Italian Serie A, when Roma plays against Sassuolo, Džeko will have the opportunity to break the record of the legendary Argentinian striker Gabriel Batistuta.
The record was set 16 years ago, when in the season 2000/2001 Batistuta managed to score ten goals in first ten matches. In order to reach this record, in tomorrow’s match Džeko has to shake the opponent’s net twice, which is not impossible.
Džeko scored goals for the Roman team at 13 championship matches and thanks to that Roma won 12 times.
