The Canadian Genocide Research Institute (IGK) addressed the public regarding the statements of BiH Ambassador to Poland Koviljka Špirić, who said that the “Serbian ambassadors” from BiH will act independently and that the resolution on Srebrenica passed the so-called red line.
In a press release from IGK, they emphasized that such a statement is anti-European.
“Your anti-civilization, anti-state, anti-European, dehumanizing statement cannot harm the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that is why it clearly speaks of your personality and your continuous anti-Bosnian actions towards the state that pays you to represent it in a humane way. You systematically and continuously violate the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You are working without consultation with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of weakening the credibility and international position of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the Institute stated.
The mentioned resolution in the United Nations, IGK points out, calls for the institutionalization of the world culture of memory.
“By denying the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica that should be adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations and which nowhere in its text mentions Serbia, the entity of the RS or the Serbian people, you are denying the genocide and the legally binding judgments of both international courts of the United Nations that ruled genocide in their judgments. The said resolution in the United Nations calls for the institutionalization of a world culture of memory and remembrance of the genocide in Srebrenica, calling for peace and reconciliation on the basis of truth, justice, education and the fight against genocide deniers and the glorification of convicted war criminals and amendments were imposed by the former high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valentin Inzko, in July 2021, which prohibit and punish the denial of genocide, other war crimes and the glorification of war criminals,” they emphasized.
It was also explained how the ambassador violated the regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Also, you have shamefully violated Article 17 of the Rulebook on the Internal Organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which states: ‘The ambassador manages the diplomatic representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is responsible directly to the minister for his work. The ambassador represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in the host country and performs affairs in the field of diplomatic representation in accordance with the regulations, authorizations and instructions of the Minister. Did you have instructions from the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica at the United Nations? with the state institutions of Poland? Everything you said to them is extra-institutional, independent, anti-state action that harms the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which pays you to work for it, not against it,” they said.
They also reminded Špirić that she is not the Serbian ambassador but the Bosnian ambassador from the Serbian people.
“You say: ‘In my long diplomatic career, I have never encountered such a situation where an ambassador or a high-ranking diplomat acts independently’. And what did you do independently in Canada?! About which we have already informed the public and competent institutions. You have not and will not succeed in discrediting the ambassadors who They truly represent their country. Considering that you have been in Canada for many years, which has voted for the Canadian institutionalization of the culture of remembrance and remembrance in Srebrenica, you should know the importance of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica in the United Nations attacks on your own, its Constitution and laws, will not give you consent. You have deceived Canada and Poland. Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to strengthen its political, economic, and academic diplomacy. The legal team of the Canada Genocide Research Institute will examine the possibility of filing a criminal complaint against the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Poland,” the Institute concluded in a statement.
