The Government of the Canton of Sarajevo tasked the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of the Canton of Sarajevo to immediately undertake activities to lift the moratorium on the employment of medical personnel in public health institutions.

At the session, the state of the health system in Sarajevo Canton was considered, and accordingly, conclusions were made that will improve the provision of health services to citizens.

The Ministry of Health is in charge of submitting to the Government of Sarajevo Canton a proposal for a regulation that will enable the admission of doctors of general medicine in all public health institutions in that canton, including hospital facilities, in order to obtain the necessary internship.

The Ministry is also tasked with sending an urgent request to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on behalf of the Government of Sarajevo Canton due to the large shortage of staff, with the aim of reducing the necessary internship for obtaining specialization to six months.

The directors of all public health institutions were ordered to ensure efficient organization of the work of employees with maximum utilization of human and material resources, in accordance with the Labor Law of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which allows them the freedom to organize the work of employees until 8:00 p.m.

The deadline for submitting information about the activities undertaken to the Ministry of Health and the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo is one month from the date of entry into force of this conclusion, announced the Protocol and Press Service of the Canton of Sarajevo.
