Canton Sarajevo: 40 New Cases, 87 recovered

In the Sarajevo Canton, 40 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed, according to this morning’s report of the Public Health Institute of Canton Sarajevo.

These are the results of testing 375 samples, collected in the period from 19 to 21 August 2020.

Of this number of newly infected, 26 of them (65 percent) belong to family clusters, and are in self-isolation from before.

During yesterday, the recovery of 87 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection was reduced to 641.

There are 50 people in hospital in the Isolation Clinic of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.

One patient uses respiratory support when breathing. During yesterday, unfortunately, one person died as a result of coronavirus infection, and one person was discharged from hospital yesterday, the CS press service said on Saturday.

There are 1,215 people in self-isolation.

According to the Institute, 3,624 people have been infected in the Sarajevo Canton since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, while a total of 2,919 people have recovered in the same period.
