Canton Sarajevo provided 3.4 million BAM to strengthen five Health Institutions

Minister of Health of Canton Sarajevo (CS), prof. dr. Haris Vranic, yesterday signed the approval on the transfer of financial resources from the CS Budget to the accounts of five health institutions, for the purpose of reconstruction and rehabilitation of their facilities and other infrastructure, as well as the procurement of the necessary medical equipment.

Funds in the total amount of 3.437.000 BAM were provided through a loan from the CS this year. By the decision of the Government of CS, they are intended for the implementation of projects in public institutions CS Health Center, Institute for Emergency Medical Aid, General Hospital “Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakas”, Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), and the Institute for Health Protection of Women and Maternity CS.

600.000 BAM is intended for the project of construction, reconstruction, and renovation of the facilities of the Public Institution CS Health Center, while 1.150.000 BAM is intended for the purchase of new medical and non-medical equipment in this institution, for more efficient and quality provision of health services.

Part of the funds from the loan in the amount of 1.000.000 BAM was approved for the reconstruction and renovation of the facility of the Public Institution Institute for Emergency Medical Aid, while 50.000 BAM will be spent for the purchase of vehicles in this institution.

Funds in the amount of 208.000 BAM are intended for the General Hospital for the reconstruction and adaptation of the ground floor of the facility for the needs of the day hospital in this institution, and a total of 150.000 BAM for the KCUS for projects of rehabilitation and extension of two substations. 249.000 BAM was approved for the purchase and installation of a digital mammoth, and 30.000 BAM for the rehabilitation of the roof surfaces, terrace, and part of the yard of the central building of the Institute for the Protection of Women and Maternity CS.

Besides the mentioned funds, by the decision of Minister Vranic, an additional 813.657 BAM was allocated from the CS Budget for repairing the economic damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the public institutions CS Health Center and General Hospital, Klix.ba writes.
