Adna Mesihović, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, and her assistant Dženita Viteškić, who were arrested today in an operation by the Sarajevo Canton Police codenamed “Envelope”, will be handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office tomorrow, the Sarajevo Canton Police confirmed.

“After criminal processing, the persons deprived of their liberty were taken to the Detention Facilities of the Sarajevo Canton Police. They will be handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office tomorrow for further action,” the Sarajevo Canton Police announced.

After members of the Sarajevo Canton Police searched the offices of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth this morning, on the orders of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office, Minister Adna Mesihović and her assistant Dženita Viteškić were detained.

The operation was conducted by order of the Sarajevo Municipal Court, and was codenamed “Envelope”.

Investigators from the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior, in addition to the offices of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth, searched the apartments of the suspects, due to suspicions of illegal employment.

The action is, among other things, the result of a signed protocol between the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office, the Anti-Corruption Office and the Police Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior.
