The Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case on events related to the exemption of seal at the Sarajevo Canton Assembly. This information was confirmed to Klix.ba news portal by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Azra Bavcic. “
After the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo provided the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office with operational material related to the event, the prosecution has opened the case. Witnesses are currently being heard, documentation is being collected and when the prosecutor’s decision is made, we will inform the public,” Bavcic said.
Danijela Kristic replaced Elmedin Konakovic as Cantonal Assembly Speaker late last year, and Mirza Celik, who is a member of the SDA party and also the new ruling majority in Sarajevo Canton, was elected to this position at an emergency session held on December 28th.
Given that the four, made up of the People and Justice Party, Our Party, the SDP and the NLB continue to believe that Mirza Celik was illegally elected as the new Speaker of the Assembly, former Speaker Elmedin Konakovic said he would keep the seal from possible misuse, Klix.ba news portal reports.
