Delegation of the Government of Canton Sarajevo headed by Prime Minister Elmedin Konakovic visited hotel “Holiday,” and they were hosted by the owner of this hotel, Rasim Bajrovic. They talked about the activities that were undertaken in the last two months in order for the most famous hotel in Sarajevo to be fully operational and to return its former glory.
The owner of the hotel said that every type of support means a lot to them, especially from government representatives.
“With our investment and work we want to restore the basic role of this facility, its full social function and the responsibility of employees. Today we can say that we have succeeded, we managed to open 200 rooms in two months, or more precisely the first five floors of the hotel including ground floor, conference rooms, restaurants, coffee Inn, parking spaces, everything is operating. Now we need to fully reconstruct 200 rooms from the 6th to the 10th floor until the New Year. They will be completely reconstructed, including new furniture, carpeting, bathrooms,” explained Bajrovic.
He also announced full reconstruction of the pool and fitness room, as well as that hotel “Holiday” will be in full operation from early next year.
“It also means that additional 90 employees will be hired by then in order to maintain the hotel in full function,” said Bajrovic.
Hotel operates, and it will continue to operate in the future, as part of the Europe group, which includes hotels “Europe”, “Art”, “Astra” and “Astra Garni Sarajevo”.
The current occupancy of the hotel is 50 %, and the full capacity of 200 rooms will be used during the Sarajevo Film Festival, and they even recorded a greater demand than supply.
As announced, office spaces can be rented within the hotel as well.
