capljina_001Božo Petrov, Mayor of Metković (Croatia) and Mayor of Čapljina Smiljan Vidić spoke of pressing issues and problems of citizens of Čapljina and Metković at a meeting that took place on 28 August, announced on the official site of Čapljina.

City Metković just completed a tender for the construction of embankments to serve as defense from floods, and what is specific is that the second part of the embankment is found in B&H. Thus, the process of its construction has to be accelerated, because without that the part that is in Metković cannot function.

‘’The general agreement is that the construction of embankments in B&H would be financed by Croatia, because this project is of interest primarily to Metković and Croatia’’, said Petrov.

When it comes to the border, Petrov said that the city of Metković and municipality Čapljina have the same views when it comes to border crossings.
