The coach of the Spanish football club “Real” from Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, has been accused of tax evasion, the Spanish prosecutor’s office announced.
The statement said that during his first coaching job in Spain’s La Liga a decade ago, the famous Italian expert used fake companies to hide parts of his income.
According to their allegations, Ancelotti embezzled one million euros in 2014 and 2015, reports the British news agency PA.
The Madrid Prosecutor’s Office requests four years and nine months in prison for Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti for allegedly defrauding the Tax Agency of more than one million euros in the fiscal years of 2014 (386,361 euros) and 2015 (675,718 euros).
According to the Public Ministry’s announcement on Wednesday, the Prosecutor’s Office accuses him of two offenses against the Public Treasury, as despite Ancelotti’s claim of being a tax resident in Spain and stating that his domicile was in Madrid, he only declared the personal work remuneration received from Real Madrid in his income tax returns and omitted the income corresponding to the exploitation of his image rights that he had transferred to other entities.
