Cazin hosts the First International Chess Tournament “FRIENDS 2013”

sah_figureToday in Cazin, organized by the Youth chess club “Dama” and sponsored by the Municipality of Cazin and Sports Association of Cazin, begins first international chess tournament “Friends 2013“.

The tournament has invitation character, and will be played by Ševeninšk system (a system in which each player of the team plays with each player of the other team).

Competitors will be divided into two teams.

 The aim of this organization is that talented chess players to gain experience through meetings with the elite of B&H and regional chess since in the tournament will participate one grandmaster, three inter-masters, 2 FIDE masters and three candidates for master.

The tournament opening ceremony is today at 16 pm, and then will be played games of first round match. The closing ceremony of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday, 8thSeptember.

The Youth chess club “Dama”, the organizer of the tournament, is the young sports collective formed seven years ago. Its members, above all sisters Topić, have achieved remarkable results in recent competitions and have been qualified for the European and World Championships in various categories.
