Bosnia and Herzegovina middle distance runner Amel Tuka won the 400 meter race at the Melinda meeting in the Italian city of Cles.
Tuka, in the competition of a total of 30 competitors, performed in the strongest race and achieved a time of 48.66 seconds. Second was Samuele Delladio with 49.71.
By the way, the race was held as part of the Trentino-Alto Adige Regional Championship for seniors and juniors, and this was also the first official appearance of the best BiH athlete of all time in 2026.
Tuka, as is well known, has been a resident of Verona for years, and it is interesting that last year’s best result in his favorite discipline – the 800 m race – was achieved precisely in Italy, at the meeting in Lignano, where, on July 13, 2025, he ran that discipline in a time of 1:44.91.
He ran the best time in the 400 m last year in Maribor (Slovenia), where on June 24 he achieved a time of 47.97.
Tuka is the BH state record holder in both indoor and outdoor disciplines.
The record for 800 meters outdoors is 1:42.51 (17.07.2015), and 1:45.95 indoors (22.02.2021), while his best time for 400 m is 46.15 (28.06.2019) and 47.14 indoors (21.02.2018).
