The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) organized a reception at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo on the occasion of winning the prestigious international Central Banking Financial Stability Initiative Award 2026, which the CBBH received for its initiative in the field of financial stability.
The reception was attended by representatives of domestic and international institutions, regulatory bodies, the financial sector, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, as well as numerous partners and associates of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The award, which was presented to the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Jasmina Selimović, at the Central Banking Awards ceremony held in London, represents one of the most significant international recognitions in the field of central banking. It is awarded to institutions that, through reform processes, innovations and strategic initiatives, have made an outstanding contribution to strengthening financial stability, resilience of the financial system and public trust.
Addressing the audience, Governor Selimović pointed out that this recognition is a confirmation of the institution’s dedicated work on improving the financial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, modernizing the regulatory framework and strengthening institutional resilience.
“This award is not only a recognition of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also a confirmation that with dedicated work, a professional approach and a clear vision, it is possible to achieve results that are recognized at the international level. We are especially pleased to be able to share this significant opportunity with our partners and associates who contributed to this success,” stressed Governor Selimović.
During the reception, it was pointed out that through this award, the international professional public recognized the activities of the CBBH aimed at strengthening the resilience of the financial system, improving the regulatory framework, developing modern payment systems, supporting the process of joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), as well as a number of other initiatives that contribute to preserving the monetary and financial stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the reception, it was especially emphasized that the achieved results are the result of the successful cooperation of all institutions operating within the financial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Coordination, exchange of knowledge and joint work of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Banking Agency, the Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, competent institutions, the financial sector and international partners were key to implementing reform activities and strengthening the resilience of the financial sector.
This kind of partnership approach is one of the most important foundations for preserving financial stability and the further development of a safe, modern and resilient financial system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In their speeches, the head of the Delegation of the European Union and the EU’s special representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Luigi Soreca, and the president of the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edis Ražanica sent congratulations for receiving the recognition, as well as support for the activities of the CBBH.
