The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH) made a decision today on determining and publishing the results of early elections for the mayor of Vareš municipality.

After this decision, requests for a recount of ballots can be submitted, it was said at the session of the CEC.

According to these results, SDA candidate Malik Rizvanović won 1,723 votes or 49.24 percent, independent candidate Dario Dodik 709 votes or 20.26 percent, and Party for BiH candidate Nurdin Begović 697 votes or 19.92 percent. The candidate of the Croatian Democratic Union, Igor Šimić, won 231 votes or 6.60 percent, and the HDZ BiH candidate Stela Terzić won 139 votes or 3.97 percent.

Early elections for the mayor of Vareš were held on Sunday, February 15, after the death of the mayor of Vareš, Zdravko Marošević, last December.
