Institutions and EU Representatives will celebrate Day of Europe on 9 May in Banja Luka, Brčko, Sarajevo, and Zenica with citizens by pointing out the achievements of the EU, including lasting peace, economic cooperation and travel without borders.
The EU Delegation to BiH announced that in Zenica on 9 May, the Mayor Husein Smajlović and Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Peter Sorensen will open the exhibition “EU in art” in the center of the city.
The competition “EU in art” was launched in March and involved the participation of young artists from Sarajevo, Brčko, Čelinac, Maoča, Visoko, Bijeljina, Bihać, Banja Luka, Gradiška, Višegrad and Tuzla.
At the ceremony in Zenica, Smajlović and Sorensen will give out awards to artists for works that were chosen by the jury. The ceremony will close with a performance by students from the music high school in Zenica and a majorette from Kiseljak.
European Day will continue on 10 May in Banja Luka with a free concert by the popular band “Neuro” and “Vanja d frog” in Kastela.
Citizens of Brčko will participate in the celebrations for Day of Europe on 11 May, where they will be able to see a performance by the music school from Brčko and a play “Teenage Show” in the performance theater “Harlekin” from Brčko.
The birthday cake of the EU, pictures, and trampolines are some of the things that will be available that day in Brčko.
The traditional race in Europe is 4 kilometers long and will be held in Sarajevo on 12 May.
The EU Delegation to BiH and Sorenson call on all citizens of BIH to take part in the festivities in Zenica, Brčko, Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
