novinarstvoThe Association of Journalists of BIH will organize a manifestation called “Journalist of the Year” on Vlašić on 3 May on occasion of the World Press Freedom Day.

The event is scheduled to begin at 20:00.

Special attention will be paid to the importance of the honorable profession and declare a laureate in the categories: print journalist, radio journalism, TV journalist, journalist of the year and a lifetime achievement award.

World Press Freedom Day, which was established by the UN General Assembly in 1993, marks 3 may in order to remind the public of the indispensable role of the media and media employees in the construction and preservation of democracy. Attacks on freedom of the press are attacks on international law, against humanity and freedom. A free, secure and independent press is the very basis of democracy and peace.
