Every seventh resident of Republika Srpska and three-quarters of population in B&H stated Bosnian language as the language they speak.
More than half of the population of B&H in the last census of population that was held in 2013, declared that they speak Bosnian language. Also, every seventh resident of the RS stated to speak Bosnian language on the census.
Thus, on the most direct way possible were disputed all efforts of politicians from RS to deny the name of the Bosnian language. Besides linguistics, history and other social sciences, now statistics and exact numbers are against them as well.
“Unofficial data that we have are based on information that was previously published by the Agency for Statistics of B&H, that at the time of the census there was approximately 3,793,000 people present in B&H,” said professor of statistics and demography and a former director of the Institute for Statistics, Hasan Zolic.
The data, based on before mentioned number of population, states that about 52 % of the population speaks Bosnian language, about 31 % speaks Serbian, and about 15 % of people speaks Croatian language. Approximately 2 % of the people in B&H speak some other language.
“It is important to note here that not only Bosniaks declared to speak Bosnian. Part of the Bosnian Catholics, especially in parts of central Bosnia, around Kraljeva Sutjeska, Kresevo and surrounding areas also stated Bosnian language as the language they speak. Also, one part of Orthodox Christians, in small numbers, have declared to speak Bosnian language,“ stated Zolic.
